Every center stone we offer is independently graded by the International Gemological Institute (IGI) or the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) before it reaches you.
What Are IGI and GIA?
IGI and GIA are two of the world's largest and most respected independent gemological laboratories, with grading facilities in Antwerp, New York, Mumbai, Hong Kong and beyond. IGI grades most of the world's lab-grown diamonds; GIA is best known for natural diamonds. Both issue reports that objectively document a diamond's quality, with no commercial interest in the outcome.
What the Report Covers
- Cut: how precisely the diamond is faceted, which drives brilliance and fire.
- Color: measured on a D–Z scale, where D is completely colorless.
- Clarity: internal characteristics and surface features, from Flawless to Included.
- Carat: the stone's exact weight, to the hundredth of a carat.
The report also confirms whether the diamond is lab-grown or natural, its shape, measurements and fluorescence.

Grades vary from stone to stone. Each stone's grades, measurements and report are on its page before you choose it, so you can compare stones and decide what matters most to you.
Verify Your Stone
Your report comes with your order. Enter its report number on IGI's or GIA's website to see the official record, and check that it matches your stone: the grades, the measurements, and the inscription on the girdle where there is one.
