Lihara started from a straightforward observation: the diamond supply chain had been designed to maximize retail margins, not to serve buyers. A stone that leaves the grower at one price reaches the consumer at five to ten times that price, not because of craftsmanship, but because of distribution layers.
Lab-grown diamonds removed the scarcity argument. Direct-to-consumer distribution removed the middleman argument. The only thing left to do was build a brand that took both seriously.
Welcome to Lihara.
We work with a small number of lab-grown diamond producers we have vetted directly. Our diamonds are grown to our specifications. We set the minimum quality thresholds.
Once grown and certified by IGI, stones go straight to our production facility. We set each diamond by hand in 14K gold, quality check the finished piece, and pack it for direct shipment.
There is no showroom. No retail lease. No floor staff commission. No regional distributor or brand licensing fee layered on top. The savings at each of those steps pass to you.
When you buy from Lihara, you're paying close to what a jeweler would pay at wholesale, not the 3-5x retail markup that traditional brand names apply. We build in a fair margin to run our business. We don't build in a middleman's margin, a showroom lease, or a regional distributor's cut.
Because we source directly, we control what gets made. We don't buy from a wholesale catalog and hope the quality matches the description. We set the grade floors (D–F color, VS+ clarity, IGI certified) and verify every stone before it goes into production.
We don't hold inventory on a showroom floor for months hoping someone buys it. Each piece is made to order after you place it. That means your diamond hasn't been tried on by fifty people and sitting in a display case. It was made for you.
Every order includes the IGI certificate documenting your stone's exact grades. You can verify the report number on IGI's website. You're not trusting a salesperson's description or a marketing claim. You have documentation.
The direct model lets us do something most traditional retailers can't: sell top-tier diamonds at prices that are actually accessible. We don't have to stock lower-clarity stones to hit a price point. The model makes the best quality affordable by design.
